FEEDING IN PARAMECIUM: describe the process of feeding in paramecium?

-The organisms is a ciliary feeder
-A distinct mouth/cytostome opens into the cytopharynx and extends into cytoplasm
-Food consists of mainly small, dead or living organic matter such as bacteria
-The food is brought to the buccal cavity and then driven into the cytopharynx through the cytostome by ciliary action
-The food particles then form food vacuole at the end of the end of the cytopharynx
-Absorption and circulation of the food particles in the endoplasm takes a fairly definite pathway called cytosis, as a result of cytoplasmic streaming
-Undigested wastes are egested through a cell anus called anal pore
