LOCOMOTION: what is locomotion?

-Locomotion is the movement of animals (organisms) from one place to another or changes in position of the whole body of the animal (organisms)
-Most animals always make use of specialized body parts for locomotion, the only exception being Amoeba
-Animals exhibit different types of locomotion
-Evolutionary position and habitat of some animal/organism affects their type of locomotion
-i.e amoeboid, ciliary, flagellate and swimming movements are exhibited in water
