NEURONE: what is/are neurones?

It is called the nerve cell, it has a cell body which is made up of protoplasmic processes. It consists of a mass off cytoplasm surrounded by cell membrane. It has a central nucleus with nucleolus. Numerous mitochondria and a golgi complex. It has network network of fibres known as neuro fibres which are made from michrotubules and microfilaments. The cell body is grayish in appearance. There are branched processes that developed from the cell body called dendrites and single long process known as axon. At the free end of the axon, there are also dendrites. The axon is surrounded by a fatty substance called myelin sheath. The axon being supported by shwann cell which forms an additional sheath called Schwann cell sheath.
