Ecological pyramid; what are ecological pyramids

– Ecological pyramids are graphic representation of economic food chains or webs
– indicates how organisms are related according to their trophic (feeding) levels
– indicates the number of individuals at each trophic level (called pyramid of number) or the biomass of organisms at each trophic level (called pyramid of energy)
– it shows that the amount of energy, biomass and number of individuals decrease at each successive trophic level.
