EXPLAIN SEXUAL REPRODUCTION: what is sexual reproduction?

-The reproduction of organism which involves the production of haploid sex cells or gametes
-The male gamete is called the spermatozoon while the female gamete is called egg or ova
-It usually involves the union or fusion of the male and female gametes/sex cells and produces a diploid zygote which further develops into the embryo/organism
-Two individuals are always involved in the process
-Sexual reproduction enhances genetic mixing, and it also allows hybrid vigor
-However, high risk of reproductive failure is possible and it is not useful for rapid multiplication.
