FATE OF PROTEINS IN DIGESTION

-Chemical digestion starts in the stomach by the enzyme pepsin, pepsin converts proteins to peptides
-In the intestine, the pancreatic trypsin converts proteins to polypeptides
-The intestinal juice contains peptidase which completes the digestion of protein by converting peptides and polypeptides to amino acids, which is absorbed in the small instestine as the end product of protein digestion
