STATE THE FUNCTIONS OF THE SECRETARY GENRERAL OFTHE UNITED NATIONS ORGANISATION

The functions of the Secretary Genera! of
the U. N. O. are:
 

  • He is
    the chief administrative officer of the organisation.
  •  He
    reports to the general assembly about its activities.
  •  He
    handles the correspondence of the organisation.
  •  He also
    gives annual report to the General Assembly.
  •  He also reports to
    the General assembly on matters likely to threaten world peace and security.
  •  He also engages on
    tours and visits member country. The
    Secretary General is appointed by the General Assembly
    on the recommendation of the Security council. He is
    appointed for a term of 4 years.
